Free web 2.0 tool called Sign Up Genius. here is how it works:
You choose a theme and input the information about your event. You can send out the link to your page or use email invites (you have the choice of having it public or private). The sign up is availible 24/7 and you can customize the frequency of reminders, which site mebers can receive by text or email.
here are some of the uses as suggested by the site: Organize parent/ teacher conferences, sign-up for activity donations/ fundraisers, coordinating partent volunteers/ chaparones, organizing staff meetings, teacher/classroom wishlists, let students choose their parts of projects, assignments, etc.
I am loving this tool...I know it can be used educationally and I welcome comments below on how you see it being used in schools.
